conscientious jury doing their best to look at the case completely and we hope fairly. >> reporter: mayor dixon sat emotionless. the defense attorney fired back >> what are the thoughts at this point? she's been a trooper throughout the whole thing and positive and staying focused on doing the city's business. >> reporter: she's on trial accused of using gift cards that should have gone to baltimore's needy families. turner testified that dixon

asked him to donate gift cards to the needy and he use the gift cards five days after the call. they said it's almost as if she's phoning in her order. the state prosecutor backed it up telling jurors that the fact remains she stole the gift cards, the verdict must be guilty. >> reporter: if she's found guilty, she could lose her position at city hall and her pension. >> thank you. stay with us for complete coverage of the trial. mary and our team of reporters follow the case and we will bring you the jury's decision as soon as it is announced. an alarming trend here in baltimore as sexual assaults have spiked. live outside of city police headquarters. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. east baltimore police say they're not taking any chances, warning women not to go outside after my night. police don't know who is

responsible for the attacks and how many men are involved. police are on edge hoping to prevent another attack. women targeted at night, dragged to dark areas and raped. it's happened five times in east and northeast baltimore. four others attacked in home invasions in the same area. >> i don't feel safe at all. i have a mother that works at night and a sister, i need them to be protected. >> reporter: things took a turn when a woman was found dead only partially clothed behind a convenient store. the east district commander told women not to go out late at night. >> unless from midnight until the sun comes up, don't go out. >> reporter: police released these sketches. they continue to be distributed

in the area. many women are worried. >> may be scared again and i'm not scared any more. here it is again. and i don't want to be like that that. i don't want to be held hostage because we have two rapist. if women go out at night, they can, just call for a police escort. >> thank you. police increased patrols in the area especially at night. public work crews tried to fix a major water main break. 160 homes and businesses without service. a 12" main broke shutting down the intersection. the water main is said to be 50 years old and maybe older. it's said it's hoped to be restored today. the governor will be in baltimore where he's expected to bring news of new jobs. here's denise with a preview.

>> reporter: good morning, in a few hours, the governor announces a job to bring jobs in the area. it will be a partnership with ports america to run a marine terminal. it will create about 3,000 construction jobs and 2700 positions related to operations. the deal tied into the widening of the panama canal. it needs to be upgradeed for the new tankers using the canal. baltimore's two sports venues are going greener. the board of public works approveed upgrades to make them more energy efficient. the stadiums get high-energy light fixures and bulbs and the heating and air-conditioning systems will be retrofitted.

53 on kent island annapolis. we now have high pressure building into the region. that's going to control the weather until halfway through sunday. the moisture field, there's a deep area of low pressure, it's pulling gulf moisture on its track northeast at this point we're thinking towards the carolina capes and the virginia capes, we have to watch the low. mid afternoon, shower activity may not be that far away and it could impact the beginning of next week. we're not changing any plans, neither should you, because it could shoot offshore. we're watching the forecast for the end of the weekend. tonight 39, clear skies 14 degrees cooler than the past overnight. seasonal temperatures by late afternoon, there could be some showers in the area. 54. monday gray and 52.

deck. let's look at the day part, the skies are clear, beautiful. for this friday before thanksgiving, temperatures around 60 before lunchtime. that's 5 above normal. your weekend begins with clear skies, a beautiful friday night. temperatures in the low 50s. >> thank you, how about the hurry up? >> good morning. it is slowing down on the west side of the beltway, the disabled vehicle that caused the delay is gone but you can see the speed sensors on the west side of the beltway, watch for about a 10- minute backup between security boulevard and frederick road. a water main break, that one blocking all lanes of eastern avenue. your alternate there eastern boulevard. there's a live look at the backup on the west side slowing at liberty road.

i don't want to be like that. i don't want to be held hostage because we have two rapists out here. >> reporter: east baltimore police say they will clean up the area like towing cars and boarding up buildings. >> thank you. in this morning's health watch report, officials say young women can stop scheduling a pap smear test. a pap smear every two years is sufficient for women in their 20s. this news comes dayses after a panel recommended women stop getting routine mammograms until age 50. from baltimore to the big

could be in the area. a special sugar-beet molasses mixture. it sticks to the road and lasts longer. it has been used in other states for decades. marty brings up a good point. it will cut back on the salt going into the bay, but what about molasses. if you spit on your front yard it ends up in chesapeake bay at some point. someone sent me a funny e-mail, wouldn't that attract bears, deer? >> i don't know. >> they're walking around, they smell it. obviously it's working in other states. can i be honest? it wouldn't kill me if i didn't see any snow this winter.

here's the low, it went by. 60 degrees is the high this day. 39 degrees, clear skies, this next night cooler by 14 degrees. 58 is the high. on sunday, this low is going to be shooting down to the south. the moisture feel by mid afternoon could spread into the area. but there's an equal chance the low shoots offshore and we get clouds. we kind of reflected that will late-day chance of showers and clouds on monday. the forecast is in flux. tuesday and wednesday with sunshine. 60 and 58. it's important to notice towards thanksgiving, we haven't opened up the door to cold weather yet. the biggest issue on the west side of the beltway, a disabled vehicle that caused a delay. the vehicle is gone but a

here in a second. troy and i had a conversation, not running any smack today. pittsburgh is a football town, we can spend our time better than throwing insults. the number one question would be how many guys try to bring you do with your hair? you're on defense, how many guys would try to block your progress with your hair? >> honestly not many guys do. i don't have the ball too often in my hand, they have a ten city to pull me my hair but not often. >> you wear the jerseys skin tight and there's an opportunity for something to be grabbed. does it brother you? >> not at all. i'm a defensive player.

>> you end up with that ball in your hand. >> you do. >> just real quick in the afc north, is it my imagination or do we play a tougher style of football than any other division in our conference? >> i think there's no question that we do. you know we have a division that is a blue-collar division and with that ask a toughness that we have, there's a defensive me tallty that you have there in baltimore as well as here in pittsburgh, you know the tradition that is carry on but that blue collarness, that toughness, three yards in a cloud of dust mentality is more alive than in any other division. >> here's a guy who plays the game. that's why it's a great time.

nor for us to enjoy our freedom. when they make the sacrifice, they lose time with their family. they lose physical operation, what once in a lifetime provides is bridging that gap, help them pay mortgage, one was to pay for a soldier's daughter who was a cancer patient to help pay for that. it's important to raise an awareness that we need to appreciate our veterans and important to tell them vocally and support them financially but importantly to honor them in this way, if you see them at an airport, to buy them dinner. or to tell them how much you appreciate them or for the mission like once in a lifetime, support them. >> we have a web site, head
